Lincoln does understand

I had a moment with Lincoln tonight that was really awesome! I have been so overwhelmed lately with 2 crying babies practically all day long and it starts to wear on my patience. So lately I have had a very short fuse and when Lincoln wants something and I tell to wait a minute he gets upset and starts to cry and whine which in turn makes me more loud and then we are both frustrated and the rest of the day carries on the same way.

So tonight Mike was at school and I had just made banana bread with the older kids while Lyla screamed her head off and Lincoln just walked around and watched. So after the bread was in the oven I needed to change Lyla and at the same time Lincoln started whining for some more milk, so I calmly made him look at my face and asked him to please stop whinig and told him very sweet that I would change Lyla first and then I would get him his drink and he stopped crying and looked at me and said "ok" and smiled and waited patiently without crying anymore for me to finish. I think from now on I will really try harder to not get so frustrated with him and try to communicate better with him. I think with Lyla being new to the family and him being a middle child I really need to make an effort to be nicer and not yell at him all day. I love that kid so much and I am soooo extremely lucky to have him

Lyla is 4 months old

I took Lyla in today for her 4 month check up and she is just so sweet and precious. She weighed 13.3lbs which puts her in the 30th percentile for weight and she was 24 3/4 in which puts her in the 60th percentile for height. So she is definately not following in Lincolns shoes because she is staying tiny, which I love. I try really hard to cherish these sweet times with her because she is our last baby so as hard as it is sometimes to cherish moments when I have 4 kids needing my attention for different things, I am really trying.

Lyla is so fun. she smiles all day long(as long as someone is holding her) and the other kids just love her to pieces. Lincoln has started trying to hold her without us being there to watch him, so I really have to keep and eye on him. I am excited to see her to continue to grow and see her personality even more
