Lyla's Birth (finally)

This all started with the post that I said about the contractions all day on saturday and got sent home. Well that was saturday and sunday I woke up and the contractions were about every 20 mins, so they really slowed down, which I was ok with since my doctor told me on friday that he would be out of town until tuesday so I kept telling myself that I could not have this baby until tuesday. So on sunday we went to church and Im still in nursery so I thought if that didnt put me into labor I dont know what would but the contractions stayed the same all day. So monday I woke up that morning feeling good and I was scheduled to do a nst(non stress test) at the hospital so my mom came over to watch the kids so I could do that and then the kids got to finger paint my belly that morning when I got home. The pictures turned out soo cute, Ill have to post those later. Monday mid day contractions started up and were every 6-10 mins so we carried on with our day and went to a bbq since it was memorial day. I woke up at midnight with REAL contractions, these actually were killing my back and I had alot of period type cramps too so I had a feeling this was the real thing. I waited until about 5 am that morning to wake up Mike and said we should probably at least get checked out. I had really fun plans that day so I wanted to either get admitted or be told nothing was happening so I could take my kids to go play at the water park pool. So when we got to the hospital she checked me and I was dialated to 3 and 90% effaced which was 1 centimeter more than saturday. She monitered me for an hour and I got to a 4 so she called the doctor and he made me walk the hospital for an hour and I got to a 5 so the doctor came in and said looks like we are having a baby today. He wanted to really make sure that I was in true labor since I was only 36 weeks. After a couple hours I got to a 6 and he broke my water. My contractions were not regular at all but my back was killing me, Ive never had back labor before so it was a new pain. I got my epidural and felt like I could do this 10times over..haha so when it came time to push the doctor said she was sunny side up, so thats why my back hurt so bad and it took the entire time for her head to come down. We named her Lyla and she weighed 7.3lbs and was 19.5 in. She was absolutely perfect. We could not believe how much hair that girl had and still has it now. we love her so much and feel so blessed that she is ours to keep.
